Every day

The Daily Challenge Hand.

One hand. Same for everyone. As many tries as you want — best score counts. A small, daily way to practice your American Mahjong game, and see the hands other players win with.

How it works

  1. 01 A new random hand is dealt each day — the same for everyone.
  2. 02 Retry as many times as you like; your best score is saved.
  3. 03 Score is based on tiles left in the wall when you finish — fewer remaining, higher score.
  4. 04 Submit on completion, then peek at the leaderboard to see how you stack up.

One hand, a world of players

Because every player gets the same deal, the Daily Challenge is a fair test of skill — not luck of the draw. The leaderboard tracks month and season standings, the most-won hands of the 2026 season, and past world champions. Player names are public, so pick a fun one — not your real name.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Daily Challenge Hand the same for every player?

Yes. Everyone in the world is dealt the same tiles each day, so scores are directly comparable. It resets daily with a new random hand.

How is the Daily Challenge scored?

Score is based on tiles left in the wall when you finish — the fewer tiles remaining, the higher your score. You can retry as many times as you like, and your best score is saved.

Where do I see the results?

Daily results are in the app — open the leaderboards from the Settings page. Monthly and yearly results are on the online leaderboard, along with the most-won hands and past world champions.

Why can’t I get the same score as the leaders?

Discards matter. Every discard you make affects the other players — the hands they choose and the discarded tiles they call. Lots of players will get the same score, but don’t try to duplicate other scores. Play your best game.

Do I need to buy anything to play?

Yes. The Daily Challenge Hand requires either the 2026 hands one-time purchase or the monthly subscription in the American Mahjong Practice app. See the Apple and Android install pages for pricing on your platform.
